A  major series of academic and public engagements taking place during 2019 and on into 2020,

curated by Dr Jacqui Turner, lecturer in Modern History at the University of Reading

Nancy Astor was elected MP for Plymouth Sutton in November 1919.

Becoming the first woman to take her seat in the House of Commons

This statue celebrates100 years of women in Parliament, unveiled on Plymouth Hoe 28th November 2019
